Career Opportunity- Youth Programming & Community Engagement Manager

Hope Blooms is an ever-evolving, youth-run social enterprise rooted in the North End of Halifax. Our goal is to foster an environment where youth from the neighbourhood can be active change agents and take responsible roles in an economically-deprived community. We do this through programming and activities focused on food security, leadership, mentorship, education and experience. With the involvement of families in the community, we operate an urban farm and greenhouse year-round with activities and events centred around engagement and food security. As well as feeding our community with healthy organic food, through entrepreneurship, we convert our harvest into means to sustain the program with proceeds growing a scholarship fund for youth involved.
We are currently seeking a Youth Programming & Community Engagement Manager to join our dynamic team of staff and volunteers in a full-time capacity.

About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Youth Programming & Community Engagement Manager is responsible for the design, facilitation and sustainment of the youth and adult programs, as well as the community engagement activities of Hope Blooms.
The incumbent leads the planning and implementation of all youth programming, including recruitment and retention of youth participants. They will oversee the Culinary, Jr Leaders, Garden, and Changemaker programs. An integral part of this role is providing mentorship and life goal planning to youth leaders engaged with Hope Blooms, including coaching youth in leadership skills, civic engagement, conflict resolution, building healthy relationships, and team building. The incumbent will assist youth in navigating the transition from high school to post-secondary education.
The incumbent will also oversee the fostering of positive and collaborative relationships with community members, local non-profit partners, businesses, organizations and government. They will manage the creation and execution of an overall plan for community outreach and engagement, including raising awareness about Hope Blooms mission, vision, programming, and values. The incumbent will represent Hope Blooms in community initiatives, speaking engagements, and at events that support our brand goals/vision and will cultivate positive relationships with key stakeholders.
